Autism Recovery Center
My mission: to educate families about their health care choices thereby allowing them to achieve optimal health through natural holistic care. I consider myself a coach in my practice. I help babies, children, teenagers, and adults of all ages move toward a healthier and more vibrant life and lifestyle. In addition to Chiropractic, I also specialize in biomedical interventions for Autism. Using the Defeat Autism Now! approach, I may be able to help your child recover from Autism. My own son was 95% recovered after less than two years of interventions.
By the way, kids love to come to my office. There are plenty of toys to play with as I have small children myself. A little love and a gentle approach go a long way towards earning a child's trust!
As a practicing chiropractor, I am continually amazed at the power of the body's ability to heal itself naturally. Regular chiropractic adjustments help restore systems to balance and reduce anxiety. Proper nutrition and the elimination of toxins promote healing better as well as feeling better. Chiropractic care benefits everyone by enhancing the human potential for optimal health.

Meet Dr. Lisa Hannifin, D.C.
She is a Clinician with extensive training in chiropractic and biomedical interventions for autism including the MAPS and Defeat Autism Now approach. Dr. Hannifin mentored with Dr. Jaquelyn McCandless, the author of Children With starving Brains, and world renown doctor, teacher and researcher, who guided and advised her in the process of recovering children on the autisim spectrum.
The Autism Recovery Center was founded in 2009 by Dr. Lisa Hannifin during the recovery of her eldest son, Adam, from autism. Her vision was to create a holistic practice that treats every patient with dignity and first-rate care. She understands that for many, visiting a doctor can be a stressful experience. Her comfortable home based surroundings will ease your child’s fears.
Dr. Hannifin is married to Doug Noland and they have two children together, Adam who is recovering from autism and Sam who is developing typically. Inspired by her son Adam’s recovery, Dr. McCandless’ encouragement, and her husband Doug's love and support, she became a practitioner committed to recovering children from autism using both the MAPS and the Defeat Autism Now! approach.
Dr. Hannifin earned her bachelor’s degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Ethics/Religious Studies with a minor in Biology from California State University Northridge. She earned her Chiropractic degree, Cum Laude, from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, one of the top chiropractic schools on the West Coast. Currently, she is completing a diplomate program in Pediatrics from the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association.
She is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, the California Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association, World Chiropractic Alliance, and Talk About Curing Autism. She concentrates on family chiropractic care including prenatal and infant chiropractic as well as biomedical interventions for autism.
Dr. Hannifin began her journey to natural healing over fifteen years ago as a patient. Like many, she discovered chiropractic following an automobile accident, which left her with progressive neurological deterioration in both her hands and arms. After two and one half years of failed traditional medical care, she received her first chiropractic adjustment and quickly came to understand the importance of chiropractic care for her overall health and well-being. It was the miraculous success in her own life and health through chiropractic care that led her on the path to become a Doctor of Chiropractic instead of a Medical Doctor as she had originally planned.
Her journey through autism began about 10 years ago and was inspired by her son and his recovery. Guided by Dr. McCandless, she saw, first hand, that autism was definitely treatable and that children could recover.
Raised in the San Fernando Valley, Dr. Hannifin has chosen to remain in the Valley in order to give back to her community. After practicing in Burbank for almost eight (8) years near the house in which she grew up, she now focuses her practice in the Chatsworth community where she lives with her husband and children.
